How to configure Winamp + Plugin Dsp Shoutcast for live streaming

In this tutorial we will explain you how to configure winamp and the DSP Shoutcast plug. This will allow you to stream your audio source to our relay server.

1 - Download Winamp: http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php

2 - Install.

3 - Download the Dsp shoutcast : http://www.second-life-streaming.com/download/shoutcast-win.exe

4 - Install.

5 - Launch Winamp.

6 - Clik Options -> Préférences

7 - A new windows appear, go to Plug-ins -> DSP/Effect (on the left)

Then select NullSoft SHOUTcast Source DSP....... (on the right of the screen)

8 - A new window opens, that here we will set up the plug Shoutcast.

Clik on the Input tab (ont the top right)

Depending your needs, you can choose to:

9 - Clik on the Encoder Tab.

Choose Encoder 1 , then MP3 Encoder

and select 128Kbps, 44.100kHz, Stereo in Encoder settings.

10 - Now we need to enter information given when you rent the stream server.

Go to the output tab and fill the Adress, Port, and Password field( Be careful, password is Case Sensitive).

If all is ok winamp should connect to the streaming server.

11 - There is again one step before starting to tream. In the output tab, clik on the Yellowpages button.

If you want to be listed in the shoutcst directory, check "make this server public" and fill all the feld.

If yo want your server to be private and only allow people from SL to listen your stream, uncheck "make this server public"

That's all, if you follow all step it should work.

To hear the music in your SL Land, you need to enter the URL of the stream.

Right click on your land, choose about land

Click on the media Tab, and fill the Music Url field like this : http://ipserver:port

example:
Ip adress = 213.251.185.209
Port = 8140
Music URL = http://213.251.185.209:8140

and click play

You should hear your own audio source on your Second Life land.
